Alesmith and Bottle Logic Collaborate on Stable Orbit

We’re always inspired by all of the collaboration that happens in the craft beer world, from more established brewers sharing ingredients with newcomers to brewers coming together in their guilds to support one another. That’s why we’re always excited when some of our favorite breweries get together to collaborate on a new beer. In this case, world renowned San Diego Brewery Alesmith and Orange County’s highly regarded Bottle Logic Brewing will be collaborating on a Double IPA called Stable Orbit for the OC Brew Haha festival.

Today we brewed the 7th Annual OC Brew Ha Ha ‘Craft Beer Festival’ collaboration beer with our friends at @alesmithbrewing and @bottlelogicbrewing . This 8.5% (projected) DOUBLE IPA ? features 4 varieties of hops exclusively sourced from South Africa! We dry hopped the crud out of this thing and the bouquet is going to be incredible! We are really excited about this beer ? ✨STABLE ORBIT ✨ Double IPA will debut at the OC Brew Ha Ha on September 24th and will be available on draft and in bottles throughout Orange County, Los Angeles and San Diego. ✅ Get your tickets to Brew Ha Ha at ? @beerandbaking #craftbeerporn #ocbeer #oc #beer #craftnotcrap #sdbeer #ocfoodies #ipa #doubleipa #brewery #craftbeer #anaheim #iipa

Bottle Logic made a repost last week on Instagram after OC Brew Haha posted announcing that the two breweries plan to work together on the limited release brew that’s projected at 8.5% and features all South African hop varieties. In the post they also announced that not only will Stable Orbit be available at the Brew Haha on September 24th, but it will also be available in bottles throughout Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Diego Counties. This is a huge and unexpected detail for us, given that many collaborations of this nature are only available on tap at the event in question or in a small surrounding area. We’ll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled around San Diego and Southern California in general for bottle of Stable Orbit to give it a try.

In a recent article on The Full Pint about the collaboration, they mention the various hop that will be used, including Southern Passion, Southern Star, African Queen, and XJA2. They also mentioned that the brewers will be adding 4lbs per barrel of hops, which is a massive amount of hops. Using more exotic hops means that this will certainly have a unique flavor profile compared to other IPAs that most people encounter in Southern California. This promises to be a unique collaboration that challenges both breweries to create something new and delicious.
