Ballast Point Coconut Victory at Sea Bottles Coming Soon
Ballast Point Brewing will soon be bottling a Coconut variant of its popular Victory at Sea Imperial Porter with coffee and vanilla. They have previously had this beer on tap at special Ballast Point events, but there have never been Coconut Victory at Sea bottles available before now. Adding coconut to the already roasty and sweet base beer of Victory at Sea adds a nice extra layer of complexity.
Coconut Victory at Sea is one of many new variants of existing beers that Ballast Point has released this year. Previous releases like Pineapple Sculpin, Mango Even Keel, and Watermelon Dorado have all introduced new fruit additions to well known hoppy beers from Ballast Point. Another recent release also included their Fathom IPL with orange and vanilla.
Many of these new beers from Ballast Point originate as R&D brews in their Little Italy location near Downtown San Diego. The more popular experimental beers find their way on tap in other Ballast Point locations and on tap at special events, and more recently into bottles and cans as well.
The label includes this description of Coconut Victory at Sea:
This Coconut Victory at Sea takes our popular Imperial Porter to another place. We added sweet roasted coconut to our robust porter brewed with Caffe Calabria coffee and vanilla, the perfect compliment to this beer’s subtle roasty intensity. A favorite at our Victory at Sea Day, but it’s worth enjoying anytime you need to be transported.
The release of this beer makes us hopeful for other potential Victory at Sea releases, like their popular Victory at Cereal that has made an appearance at Victory at Sea Day in the past. The release date for the Ballast Point Coconut Victory at Sea bottles has not yet been announced, so be sure to check back for updates on when Coconut Victory at Sea will be available to purchase.
