Bourbon County 2016 Release
Black Friday is approaching and that means beer fans everywhere are getting ready to sit down to an incredible Thanksgiving dinner with family, and then wake up the next day and go out to pick up Bourbon County Brand Stout. There are a number of official Black Friday Bourbon County 2016 release events on Goose Island’s website for Chicago, Long Island, Philadelphia, and San Francisco, and 2016 Bourbon County will also be available at many retailers across the country.
It’s easy to find where Goose Island and get an idea of where Bourbon County 2016 may be for sale near you starting on Friday November 25th, with the Goose Island beer finder on their website. This year there will be four different Bourbon County variants, though one of them is the much more rare Proprietor’s that is only available in Chicago. The four different variants are:
- 2016 Bourbon County Stout — Aged in bourbon barrels.
- 2016 Bourbon County Stout Coffee — Brewed with Intelligentsia Flecha Roja coffee sourced from Costa Rica.
- 2016 Bourbon County Barleywine — Aged in first-use bourbon barrels.
- 2016 Bourbon County Stout Proprietor’s — Brewed with chipotle peppers and cocoa nibs before being aged in bourbon barrels that previously stored maple syrup. Chicago exclusive.
After the numerous accounts of Bourbon County beers from 2015 being infected, Goose Island made the decision to pasteurize the Bourbon County 2016 release to avoid the possibility of infection. Many craft brewers avoid pasteurization and claim that it can have a negative effect on beer, while others argue that there is no loss in the quality of flavor. We hope that the new pasteurization process will result in fewer recalls of Bourbon County for this year’s release.
Have a safe Black Friday, and good luck to everyone looking to bring home a few bottles of 2016 Bourbon County for the holidays.
