Drake’s Aroma Coma IPA
Drake’s Aroma Coma is the brewery’s incredibly fresh and flavorful summer ale, bursting with hop aromas and flavors. Originating back in 2009, this seasonal beer embodies the hop-forward West Coast style IPA. Upon pouring this beer, the fragrant hop smells are readily apparent, with a strong and fresh hoppy smell coming from the dry-hopping process. Aroma Coma has a piney flavor, with a nice blend of hop flavors coming together nicely in this hopped up IPA.
For the Aroma Coma, Drake’s uses the American Bravo, Citra, Cascade, and Chinook hops earlier in the brewing process, and later double-dry hops with Citra and El Dorado first, followed by Citra, Chinook, and Amarillo – as detailed on Drake’s website. This beer is intensely enjoyable, with every sip leaving us wanting more of that fresh hop flavor and aroma that has come to define the West Coast Style IPA, definitely a great beer to enjoy while it lasts!
